Ok, i found a 1998 impreza RS for 3,000 dollars, but the catch is the guy that is selling it says that it was rear ended and it needs a new bumper "which i would replace anyways" and the rear end also needs to be re-aligned, i was just wondering if it would be worth it to buy the car and have it fixed, and if anyone has any idea of how much it might cost to have it fixed that would be great! :) Thanks...

Is the frame bent?
Is it a salvage title?
edit: Normal price $10-14k; does it add-up after repairs are done.

I hate this...but that's a lot of double talk.
needs to be re-aligned=bent>>>frame straightening rack.
The car is definately repairable, but its best you know what the deal is before jumping in.
The current owner obviously hasn't surrendered the title so it has not been "officially re-classified" by an insurance company. This could be good news if the insurance company knows of the damages, ask to see an inspection disposition.
If the car is inspected by a body shop it can still be "found" to be totaled depending on the severity of structural damage which is as good as a salvaged car.
Get the car inspected, if it's classified as totaled and you are comfortable with that, so be it, at least you know, no surprizes.

Hmmm, doesn't sound good to me. What does re-aligned mean if the frame is straight? Rear end collisions are notorious for bent frames. Proceed with caution. If it sounds like it's too good to be true, it probably is!
