Okay. I'm really confused. Can someone please clear this up for me.

02 or newer used to use the AA060 Oil filter. Then it was changed to AA080. Then I read about 04'-05' using AA100. According to the faq, AA100 replaced AA080 but they were specific about the 04-05 using the AA100. Does this mean the 02 also uses the AA100?

Maybe I'm stupid, but I can't figure out which filter to use. I have an 02 WRX wagon. Do I use the AA100 or should I use the AA060. The dealer wants to sell me the AA060.

Also, this is the first time changing the oil. I have the fumoto valve and I just purchased the filter. Aside from the washer the fumoto valve came with, are there any other washers or gaskets that I need to buy? Is there a washer for the oil filter it self? Sorry for all the newbie questions...I just don't want to leak oil everywhere.

use the 100, it is the newest version of the filter and replaces the 080 which replaced the 060.

either one will work, but they prolly want to clear out stock of the old ones. get the newer one 080 or 100 cause they are smaller so they don't heated as much from the exhaust manifold.

the oil filter has a gasket on it, remember to put some oil on it so it seals. you can replace the drain bolt gasket, but you don't really need to every time unless you overtighten and crush it too much.

The wrx is supposed to use the 100 now - I just picked one up yesterday (opened the package - it looks identical to the 080 I compared it to - the only difference being some of the markings) - the 060 is the larger diameter filter - you can use that too, if you still have some.

the 100 and 080 are for cars with turbo's, the 060 is for non-turbo. ask the parts guy at your local dealership
