Bought my WRX few weeks ago and its time for an oil change, the car has 51K on it, and the sticker in the window says it uses mobil oil.

first question, what does subaru recomend for an oil? brand and weight


Second, thinking of going to a synthetic, heard mobil 1 synthetic gets used up in WRXs.

if the car is still near stock condition just use a 10w30 synthetic oil, royal purple is very nice. And yes mobil 1 oil does tend to disapear in wrx,s so if you choose to use it just keep and eye on the level and check it every few days to make sure its toped off where it need to be.

The manual recommends 5W30 Dinosaur oil of no particular brand.
