Hi all,

Today MY99' RS decided to overheat out on the freeway??? I was cookin along and started to get "the mist" and then saw it comming out the hood vent...

So i let her cool down and she only took about a quart of water.(someone was nice enough to stop)... i drove further home than i had gone b4 and no problem????? I let her idle in the driveway for at least 3-4 cycles of the fans???

Any thoughts???

Maybe your thermostat was stuck shut. Did it happen right after you started the car for the first time in the day?

Prolly a good idea to do a coolant flush. You may have some build up in there that came loose and clogged at just the right angle to block water flow, and when you turned the car off it allowed it to settle.

coolant flush, try swapping tstat and radiator cap

hopefully that's all it is.
