Anyone had any problems with the auto dimming mirror only covering about 70% of the entire mirror? Its slowly been gettin worse.... :furious:

Those are the symptoms of death. Its unrepairable.

Yep, mine did that. It eventually shrank down to a spot in the middle. Dealer replaced it under warranty, although I still was under 36K back then. Over 75K now and the replacement one is still working fine.

mine did the same thing.....it's only a matter of time before it goes.....replace item only, non-repairable

If you decide to replace, you need a Donnelly mirror - no need to buy it from Subaru. (there's a number of people who sell new ones on eBay - they have actually changed the way the dimming work - if you have an old design (which turns dark grey) that's more prone to failure than the new design (which turns a dark greenish-grey)

Mine died/is dying after about 63,000 miles.
