Does anyone know the exact diameter of the WRX steering wheel? Is it 385 mm? My car hasn't arrived yet, but I want to get a Disklok for it beforehand.
Thanks!

Good luck with the disklok I'm also interested in odering one. Tried the autolock but it was a major pain to get on and off my car, so i returned it. Skyline 08-15-2001, 03:15 PM Thanks for the measurement. I just placed an order with Kelvin (nice guy) at Disklok.com for one Disklok in size D1 (small). I should get it in about a week or so. Maybe my car will arrive by then. :p Cool thing is that I mentioned i-club.com, and he told me this: If you order from Kelvin at Disklok and tell him Melvin from the i-club sent you, he'll give you a discount!!! Don't say I'm not good to my people. /mel :D gugarci 08-15-2001, 03:33 PM Keep us posted. This seems like a much better idea than the club. Skyline 08-15-2001, 05:37 PM Actually, I was also considering getting the Autolock. Did you try it on the brake or clutch? How was it difficult to put on and take off? It *seems* like it should be straight forward. I've heard some people say it's easy to use, and some others like you who have said it's a pain. Hmm.. /mel Skyline 10-04-2001, 03:46 PM An update. I just got my WRX last weekend and have been using my Disklok (size small). There are three notches in the lock for best fit, and the Disklok fits snugly (perfectly) on the steering wheel on the largest notch setting. It feels very secure, and the thing is highly visible. Pretty obvious since it's big and bright yellow! :D This thing is really quite large and heavy. I keep mine on the floor in front of the rear right seat. I have to be careful picking it up from the back with one hand and then putting it on the wheel. Wouldn't want to smash anything with a 10 lbs steel object. :D Highly recommended! /mel warpdrive 10-04-2001, 04:07 PM Forget the Autolock. I've heard it can be broken in seconds. Not the Disklock though....every magazine rates it at five minutes or more. The other highly rated one called Autolok2000 steering wheel lock, doesn't fit the WRX. a short writeup here (http://www.geocities.com/ray_tsui/disklok.htm) |
