I got in the car yesterday, it was hot as hell.
I look in the mirror (center), and notice that the liquid crystal stuff that is what makes the autodim work, is not all there  .
There is a bubble that goes all the way across the top and about 1/2 inch down. It has distorted the mirror as well (or maybe the distortion is the cause).
Anyone ever have this happen to them??
I am hoping that this is covered under warranty. The car is only 3 years old, and it is definately not abused.

I'll try to get a picture of it and post that.

Unfortunately it's not uncommon for the autodim mirrors to break down for the Subie owners on here. There have been numerous people who have reported that their mirrors have broke down on them after only a short while of ownership. I don't recall if anyone got it replaced under warranty or not. The mirrors are made by Donnelly, so if you wind up having to shell out your own money to buy a replacement, you can get them all day on eBay. You can even get ones with a temperature display along with the compass. I believe the newer ones dim green instead of blue.

Also, you may want to do a search for "autodim mirror" to see what other owners did...

Thanks Hank,
I'll do a search for autodim, since my other search didn't turn up anything.
