I am wondering where the intertia fuel cut off is in my 2002 WRX? A few of my old cars had a nice intertia switch that you could trip, shutting off the fuel pump circuit. Does it even have one?

Uncle Scotty 07-28-2005, 02:15 PM AFAIK, no....does not. specialev 07-28-2005, 02:35 PM Damn. I am suprised there is no inertia switch. I thought that there was a federal regulation specifying some kind of fuel cut off for impacts of a certain minimum magnitude. Uncle Scotty 07-28-2005, 02:44 PM Damn. I am suprised there is no inertia switch. I thought that there was a federal regulation specifying some kind of fuel cut off for impacts of a certain minimum magnitude. ....it is all about the ECU.....if the engine stalls, the fuel pump stops. My '95 Probe had a cutoff.....last car I owned that did, I think. specialev 07-28-2005, 03:21 PM You can crash a car and not make the engine stall and you can have fuel spilling out on the ground and not have the engine stall. Uncle Scotty 07-28-2005, 04:16 PM ....so cry about it.........'aint no damn 'inertia switch' that cuts fuel......except the airbag system. specialev 07-28-2005, 07:06 PM Okey dokey. I am crying a river. |
