Hey all I've been searching locally for Purolator oil filters but haven't had any luck. Pep boys were the only place that I could find that carried Purolator but had none in stock to fit my 03WRX. I decided that Mobil1 would suffice, but also only found 1 store carrying them and none for my car specifically. I ended up buying a Mobil1 M1-108 which is for turbo models (both WRX and STI) 2004 and up. Will there be any problems substituting this for my 2003(which requires a M1-112)?

Purolator Pure One PL14460 will fit perfectly....or get a stock one from the dealer.
Wasn't able to find Purolator in stock locally, and my subie dealer is pretty far also. Just wondeering if the '04 listed M1-108 will work fine even though for some reason the M1-112 was listed for '03.

I find it hard to believe taht you can't buy Purolator filters at a place near you.......where do you live??? The moon???
....and all this CAN be ordered on-line, too.
Yeah really I was surprised I wasn't able to find any either. I checked Wal-Mart, Murray's, Autozone and Pep Boys(which carried Purolator, but my size was out of stock). Pondered ordering online but decided I just wanted to get it done with this weekend. After this I'll definitely order online and stock up so I don't have to go through the run around looking for stuff last minute.

This is not an uncommon problem. If I wanted to go with a WIX, I would be good to go, but unless you have a local source that can send off to to a sister store for an overnight, you are going to be out of luck in many parts of the country, especially in smaller towns.
Just stock up on two or three when you get a chance from an online store. I used partsamerica.com which is Advance Auto's online partner. Worked out to about $8.50 each after taxes and shipping/handling for the Purolator PURPL14460.
Someone else might be able to hook you up with a little better price. :)
When you have to drive 50 or more miles to a Dealer for parts and supplies, the shipping and handling costs seem reasonable when compared to $2.50+ /gallon gasoline prices.

The only place I've been able to find the right Pure One filters is Advance Auto.
