right now my car is 100% stock. if i get an accessport, what will that do for my car's class? I know there is the stx legal map which would obviously put me in stx, right? What about if i were to flash my map back to the stock settings for autox, I would still be legal in DS, correct?

also, would my car be more competitive in stx with just the accessport or in DS with nothing?

Hmm... since STX is a street tire class, and you dont have R-comps, I am going to go with STX. It all depends really on what cars are out at your local autoX area.

I would worry more about tires and suspension in autoX than i would ever about power.

Do you have a "street tire" class in your region? In the Chicago Region SCCA, you class your car by mods and then you place by multiplying your raw time by the index for your car, everyone on street tires of course. That would be ideal. Otherwise STX is best because you'll get chewed up by DS guys on R-compounds or any Integra for that matter. You still wouldn't want to run the STX map though in STX, because it is designed for a Stage 2 setup. Still STX would be the best bet bone stock without a street tire class. A Stage 1 map will throw you into SM where you'll get your azz handed to you. Just don't run the AP maps until you get the mods for Stage 2 IMO.

^Yeah, since R-compounds are allowed in stock classes, it can make you more competative in STX since everyone else will be on street tires.

sorry, i forgot about road tire. the better question is would i be more competitive in road tire or stx, but i guess that has been answered too.

It's taken many internet fights and re-wordings to finally put my thoughts in clear writing as to accurately portray my feelings on the subject.

Or more simply: This is my best argument against it so far.

I'm going to create another thread as to not pollute this one with the fallout that is sure to follow.
