View Full Version : Mastro Subaru, Tampa Florida
Dirt Man 08-13-2001, 02:36 PM Outstanding reputation for Customer Service, Great Sales Staff, and an ever expanding Parts Department. I cant remember ever enjoying going to a car dealership, Pete Mastro & his staff make it a pleasurable experience.
Plus there a mod-friendly dealership!
Weasel 555 08-13-2001, 02:48 PM Dirtman,
I Agree 110 % :D
i've got my last 3 Impreza's from there :D
Definitely worth the drive....
Must chime in and say...Mastro Rules! No better service or sales department in Florida. Mod friendly, sell cool stuff; MRT, Prodrive, etc. Every time I go I end up hanging out for an hour or more because everyone is so friendly; Pete Mastro, AlfaBill, Joe, Victor, John...everyone. Plus they support us for meets and rallies! :D
HomerJay 08-13-2001, 10:16 PM I just bought a Prodrive exhaust from Bill (Alfabill) and he was really cool. called to order and we chatted. Nice guy. Too bad Prodrive couldn't get their act together.
wrxwannabe 08-14-2001, 09:40 AM With out a doubt, we need to Thank Pete and Bill and all the folks at Mastro for taking such good care of all of us deranged Subaru nuts..
Thanks again guys
Later
Eric
ScoutWRX 08-14-2001, 07:06 PM Mastro kicks butt!!!!!!!!!!! I have not yet met Pete or Bill but I delt with Sean and he was a great salesman to work with. We want another WRX to be our "family" car...We want it in RED...so Pete, please place an order for a red WRX...we must be the only people who want one in that color or something because I have never seen one.
Chris
Hey Scout, I was at Mastro on Monday...they had a red WRX in stock! :D
Dirt Man 08-15-2001, 10:51 AM I was there on Saturday, and saw the red WRX, looks great. Personally I want the silver REX with the 18" P1's. C'mon Pete, make me a deal I cant refuse!!!!!
perrito 08-15-2001, 11:07 AM I agree about Mastro's policies... but will reserve final judgement until I actually pick up my WRX wagon (5 speed, blue) in September. So far, so very good, and it's been a pleasure. Keep up the good work guys. perrito
Dirt Man - Did you see the Rally Blue WRX that came with the STi Titanium shift knob from the factory! Pretty cool. :D
jetfire67 08-15-2001, 03:27 PM Mastro and alfabill rule!!!!
those guys hooked me up when my car broke down cuz of a blown MAF down there! aftermarket intake? no problem!!!
hey Opie! remember me? i met u down there!
Dirt Man 08-16-2001, 12:08 PM Yea Opie, I saw it. I like the OZ style ball shifter alot better than the funky STI knob. I'm still dreaming about a silver WRX with a set of the anthracite P7's. Wishful thinking.
sanders 08-16-2001, 06:07 PM just got back from mastro... they installed andy's TEIN suspension in his WRX... thanks to Larry for selling me 2 imprezas (ask for him if you need a car)... gotta give a lot of respects to Pete for all his support... and that guy Bill who is always trying to sell me stuff! :D
however, we all know why we go there ever sOo often... to see Krysta of course..!!! ;) hey, Bill i know you're sitting there right now at the front desk... turn around and tell Krysta i said hi!!! :)
Dirt Man 08-17-2001, 01:38 PM Bill does kinda give a "hard sell" on parts...(You gotta have these) I've bought so many things from him, purely on spur of the moment (clear corners, etc.). There such a great bunch of people, including Alpha Bill "The Parts Pimp".
Mastro still RULES!
The "Parts Pimp" just sold me some 17" Anthracite P7's! :D
barkall4 09-27-2001, 05:38 PM Since Opie got me stuck on using Mastro, I wanna see if they are willing/capable of installing a turbo kit on my R.S. Or if they themselves sell turbo kits for the car. Even though I'm across the state, It would be worth the 2+hour drive, and I could leave my car there for as long as they need it. (not too long :p )
I was just wondering. Bill Bryan Imports (where I made my purchase) doesn't seem to keen on Aftermarket support for us.
Thanks guys,
Steve
RaceCarRiot 10-01-2001, 09:28 PM looks like i'll have to start making saturday trips to tampa for service/parts...
i was warned when i bought my subaru to stay away from classic, and i wouldn't even dream of letting bob dance touch anything i own...and now that bill bryan imports has been giving me nothing but problems in the last several weeks, i think i shall have to take a trip to mastro...
alfabill--why don't you guys list all the aftermarket stuff you carry on your site? i would have been a customer there long ago had i known how mod friendly you guys are... :D
=adam=
lstepnio 10-08-2001, 12:53 AM I visted Mastro the other week in hopes of finally test driving a WRX.
First, I really thought the salesman was a bit nutty for not wearing his seatbelt on the testdrive.
My main gripe was that Mastro does not have a stock WRX that they let you to test drive. The demo WRX I took for a ride had various performance upgrades including slotted rotors, a noisy blow off valve, noisy exhaust(ok, it was kinda cool), fancy wheel$, fancy tire$, turbo timer and that was the quick inventory i took without even popping the hood on the demo car.
The salesman seemed really hard pressed that they are selling the WRX's for sticker w/o any room for much of any deal(they had about 10 WRX's on the lot!!!) . I was quickly frustrated and lost my exitement and decided not to pursue it further at that point since I was not quite ready to make a purchase. They did quote me a good figure for my trade, but I have decided to sell my Honduh on my own so I don't throw 2-3k out the window just for being lazy.
I'm planning on contacting Mastro when my Honduh is sold to see if they are willing to come up with a reasonable deal along with all the other 10 or so Subaru dealers within reasonable driving distance.
REXY WAGON 10-25-2001, 10:52 PM SEAN MCARTY WAS ONE OF THE BEST SALES GUYS I'VE EVER DEALT WITH.I CALLED EIGHT DEALERS FROM MAINE TO FLORIDA, BEING A PILOT I LOOK FOR THE BEST DEAL NO MATTER WHERE IT IS. GREAT DEALERSHIP WITH ON TIME DELIVERY. SAFE DRIVING.:)
TampaWRX 11-04-2001, 08:40 AM I know this thread is kind of old and I don't have much to add, but I wanted to reiterate that Mastro made me very happy! They got me out of a leased Si and minimized my negative equity, cut some cost on the sticker and generally hooked me up. I did my deal in under 3 hours from the time I stepped on the lot to the time I drove away with the car. I've now been driving my WRX for three days and have NO buyer's remorse. :) Pete was cool, that's his car they use as the tester and Steve seemed very friendly as well.
They basically told me to modify the car and that they would take care of whatever happens down the road. I'm definitely leaning toward their service department when I start doing some advanced mods I can't handle in the driveway.
I did my deal with Larry as well, very cool guy who seemed willing to chat before and after the deal. I've lived in Tampa my entire life and have been told numerous times that Mastro Subaru is the only Subaru dealership to talk to in the tri-county area. Good times!
Oh yeah, Krysta is a hottie! ;)
