Ok, this has nothing to do with Subarus, but when it comes to autocross questions, I trust you guys. So I'm hoping that you can help me out here.

A friend of mine wants to autocross her completely stock 2005 Pontiac G6 GT. I've been trying to figure out exactly what class she's going to be in, but unfortunately I've been out of the scene for about a year and haven't watched any G6's run yet.

According to the 2005 rulebook online, under GS it lists "General Motors - All FWD models with 6-cyl (all), Quad 4, Ecotec, or 4 cyl. turbo engines, NOC" and I find no other reference to the G6 anywhere else. Henceforth, my conclusion is that she will be running in GS (which matches my original guess). So, I could just use some expert verification here.

Thanks!

Yep. GS it is.

It's not listed in any Fastracks, so it falls under the NOC. ;)

Thanks!

You see, I always know I can count on the NASIOC Motorsports forums (KC in particular!)

What up, Wong? How's everything going?

Well, my cars haven't really been up to autocross spec lately. The WRX needs a clutch and the Jetta had the rear window smashed and needs brakes. So I haven't had anything that was able to run. I'm going to try to get the Jetta reeady to go soon, but I the meantime I think I have my friend with the G6 conviced that she should run (and let me co-drive). We'll see if I can actually get her to come out to the Dog Days event.

I was trying to come watch the Ypsi event on sunday, but some stuff came up that I had to deal with. How was it? And whose car were you driving? I'm going to try my best to get out to the next one to at least watch and hang out.

Got it. That's what I figured he was driving, but when I looked at the results it said "99 Subaru WRX" and I got mildly confused. (Granted, I was looking at this while at work and operationg on 3 hours of sleep.)

Mike, It's nice to know that I'm missed because of my cockiness! If I can get glass and brakes in the Jetta this weekend, I'm going to run at Dog Days, otherwise, I'll almost certainly be there to spectate for a bit. I'm really starting to miss the events and seeing everyone.
