Fitment: exactly as stock filter size. Zero part number confusion.

Price: almost same as K&N's, $49 + shipping, tax.

Quality: the filter element isn't exactly foam, more like mesh of plastic, therefore more duarable than foam. Came with some oil pre-sprayed onto the filter element. Seems strong enough to withstand a spray-down for cleaning.

Performance: with the resonator cut out, the boost does come on earlier - couple of RPM earlier. Can hear the turbo/stock BOV much easier.

I've got one on the way! I'm selling my K&N but I think the K&N is good too. I just want to be special (everybody has K&N)

I just installed mine. I liked that it flows better Dirty than any other filter, even tho the K&N has slighly better flow clean but flow drops quickly when dirty. I also like the Green Goop on it:lol:

I don't know how an individual car owner can truly judge the worth of something like an airfilter just by looking at it. Yeah it looks cool & fits in the box without rubber spacers. so what?

How long has ITG been around? Haven't seen any data on the ITG except some graph showing less backpressure over ever-increasing dirt load. A couple extra horses in the short term is nice but I'll forego it if it means more crap getting into the cylinders. Any of you guys with the ITG inspect the airbox cover with a wet wipe to see how much dirt collected there after a few hundred miles?

I’ve the Jim Conforti cold air intake with the ITG foam filter on my M3 and I couldn’t be happier. Many BMW people used the ITG drop in panel filter on their cars as well.

As far as I know, Jim Conforti heard about the ITG filter from the McLaren people in England while he was developing his intake. The McLaren people told him that he should take a look at the ITG filter since they have been using the ITG filters with pretty good result. Sure enough he choose the ITG filter over other brands out there. (That includes the K&N of course.) There actually have a big debate on the BMW people why the hell did he choose this ITG filter over the K&N one. I think Jim’s answer was that he did some testing and all of the numbers he got show ITG filter perform on top in almost every category.

I think the McLaren people knew what they were doing…:)

My friend's got a 328i BMW and he put in a ITG filter when he installed a new cone intake. The ITG seems to still breath really well even after a few months of heavy dust and forest fire smoke (we live in Reno, NV and the mountains are burning!). The filter's easy to clean out, and it came with a can of oil to spray on it that lasts for 4 or 5 cleanings.

I'd order the ITG panel filter for my WRX, but why drop $50 on it when I'll put a new intake on soon anyway...
