Bought it when I got the car - made lots of noise but added no power at all - - now I got a BPM - lots of power but issues with fit and finish

I've never heard the STi muffler, but I've heard that it is quiet.....How does the sound compare to the Scoobysport? People say the scoobysport is loud, but I don't consider it loud at all on my WRX. Prolly way louder on a N/A car. The STi is waaaay expensive from the stealership. Isn't it like $700 or $900 or something for just the axle back?

Yep, the STI muffler is quiet.. much more so than my housemates stromung on his 2.5. It does list for like $800 at subaruparts i think.. i got it for less used. now to find some used P1's.....

and stromung 2.25 center pipe for about 120

now that is pretty affordable

its a take off from Japanese stock 99 WRX-RA
I even got its suspension

I also bought a used carbon fiber strut bar for 230

I'm not how price are now but Mikes Shields knows about Subaru
definite place to bookmark for any subaru fanatic

you're talking about two different STi exhausts. The one from Mike at SPD is off a GC8 WRX and it's used.

Al pretty much got the first shipment of exhausts from BPM, hence all the problems with it fitting right. It should be fixed by now.

Yes, the muffler is quiet and makes a crisp tone when accelerating. It is expensive, I just went ahead and paid for it when I bought the STi along with its sticker price or what the used dealer was asking; $24,500 w/ 7k miles.

too expensive? I agree. Although I'd love to have one versus my current turbo back just for the looks alone. Im probably not alone, hence the high price.
