That being said I was brought up being told that the only reason to go to a larger diameter tire is fit a BBK. Sense most BBK's fit under 17's that would be the best trade off between the two. Otherwise, the (likely) lower weight of a 17 is the way to go. Since you're going to be using one set for street and autox/track, you aren't looking to be nationally competitive, and you probably won't be at the top of your region--so go with what you like and let the performance chips fall where they may; you'll be fine on either. cooleyjb 08-07-2005, 09:41 PM You can get a tire that is both competitve nationally and streetable. That is what we find in the STX class with the Kumho, Hankooks, Azenis etc. 17 is much better for performance in most every way. Weight, Diameter and so on. Also 17's are cheaper. More tires to choose from in 17. No Brainer here.
