if your using a jdm ej20g engine in your impreza, you will most likely need the jdm ecu, a liberty ecu will not work with it.

thats what this guy from the liberty RS forum is telling me cause I'm trying to source one from down under...who to believe :confused:

um not so much
block+heads+injectors+manafolds++++ are the same
what is differnt is the turbo,cams(depending on the model), intercooler and spark/fuel mapping
it will definatly start and run . but may not run well
a liberty ecu + a piggy back (like an emanage woul be a plasuable solution)

do you have the harness?
unless its really cheep there are better plug n play options like a: link, autronic, power fc or f-con
which will also help if you have to deal with 91 octane

i am confused why would you think a 99 ecu would work with a ej20G (93-95/96)
