I bought my WRX from Carr Subaru in Beaverton, Oregon, through Ken Eby, their Internet sales manager. At first Ken seemed skeptical and a little annoyed that I wanted to test-drive a WRX (I'm 18 years old -- I don't blame him). Of course, after I mentioned how much I make a year and that I wanted to buy a WRX right then, he seemed a lot happier.

Of course, being 18, I had trouble from the start getting financing. It took most of the day to get the financing worked out, but Ken was very helpful and cheerful throughout, even though he had other scheduled customers to deal with. In the end, we had to wait overnight for a response from Subaru but finally worked out a financing plan (and not a bad one either, considering my age and the fact that I had no credit).

At the last minute, as he was doing a quick inspection of the car before I drove it off the lot, Ken noticed there was some minor shipping damage under the front bumper. He was straightforward and honest about the damage, and assured me that if I still wanted the car, they'd order me a new bumper right away.

At this point, I wasn't going to let something like this stop me, so I drove home with my new WRX. A few weeks later, Ken called and had me set up an appointment with Carr's body shop, and the shipping damage was repaired with no hassle.

All in all, I had a very good experience with Carr, and they're some very friendly people. I haven't had any maintenance or reliability issues (this car's solid as a rock), so I can't rate them on that yet, but I was very happy with my buying experience.

I bought my 93 Turbo Impreza from here. :D

It didn't have a turbo when I bought it tho, but the experience was all right. Only took 2 days of negotiating and I got a good price and 10.9% financing. Not bad for being 19 and buying an 83,000 mile car.

As for the service department, I don't know.

The parts guys are cool though, a hell of a lot better than the entire crew working at Stephens Creek Subaru in San Jose.

Overall, I'd go back they were allright and appreciative of my car modding and racing tendancies.

Haven't had to deal with them for any warrenty work yet (knock on wood), but I have bought several parts from them, and they also help out the local Subie club (SPEC) by coming out to events, and even letting us hold the occasional meeting there at the dealership. The only reason I didn't get my RS there was because they didn't have any in stock. But anything that needs to be done under the warrenty or terms of the lease will be done there, because I trust them.

Sales I would rate as 3 stars out of 6. Service gets the highest rating that I can give. It is, hands down, the best service department I have EVER dealt with. Excellent.

Ditto on what turbo4me said

I have nothing good to say about Carr except for the service/parts area.

Carr sales? Several words come to mind... felonious, sleazey, #$%*&!@...

edit: Maybe a little too harsh... Ken Eby internet sales guy is straight up.

Carr's service group has got to be the best. They have done mods (pulley, sti exhaust) with no warranty hassles. They're enthusiast friendly. Bob Thompson, their service mgr, is an enthusiast.
