I was planning on using a blade fuse tap on the inside fuse panel to connect up the power on my boost gauge. It looks like it will not fit behind the cover and the fuses are the small kind (I don't think the tap will work on the small ones). How do I splice into it? Would squishing the wire down with the fuse work?
Thanks in advance,
Regan-

I used the fuse number - 12 in the fuse box, should be a 10 amp fuse. This only has power when lights are turned on. I squeezed it in there. No problems at all(over a month) Use the hood release handle bolts(2 of them, 10mm) for your ground wire. Hope this helps. I used the info from Jorges site www.ProjectWRX.com
hope this helps

If you're just trying to get power for lighting on the guage then there is a connector on the back of the stereo unit that is unused (and controlled by the dimmer switch, etc). The Subaru single column mount guage connects to this plug for the boost guage lighting...

yeah, use that connector, all though i just stuck the wire in the fuze box to wire a radar detector, and used that same bolt for ground and also had no problems....
btw, i also heard that there was a wiring harnass for the compass mirror up top, has anyone done that?

you can also tap the wire on the hazard light button, right there in the center (if your doing the dash pod location.). it's on the dimmer and it's easy.
