This is the BEST Subaru dealership in Alberta for Subarus.

Their head mechanic has won several "Master Subaru Tech" awards.

This will soon be the only dealership in W. Canada that's Mod friendly.

As a side note. For all you Calgarians and Edmontonians, if you're looking for a Subaru, go to Subaru of Calgary and talk to Terri B. Mention that I recommended you there, and he will give you the best price you can find in Alberta.

I just helped Inpreza Kid's family get a new Legacy GT, and ended up saving them quite a bit of $$$$ (each dollar sign marks an actual number place, so you can figure out that you'll actually be under MSRP). For guys wanting the WRX, the max discount they give now is $500CAD (so $500 off MSRP)

I like them as well. They have always been upfront & onest w/ me like a dealer should be. They have ALWAYS returned my calls & notified me of any change in progress when having work done on my Scoobies. I even recommend non-subie owners to go there and get serviced while in Calgary. Yes, they are that nice.

And you $100 ;) hehe. Referals are cool.

hey i am thinking of either going there ot to certaur subaru on mcloed trail, so u say subaru of calgary is better. i have to admit that they let me and my friend test drive it by myself and i hauled ass down 16th ave to chestemere (about 180km) but the thing is that i dont think that they gonna budge much on the price. I heard of guys in Ontario stealing the ride for $33k including front and rear factory lips...what do u guys think??

How are they if you have a serious warranty problem? Do you get the runaraound like some horror stories on i-club, or do they fix it no hassle?

Good sales experience. Lots of test drives (2 drives in a TS, 1 each in WRX, and OBS), only once with the saleslady Lynn. Once she figured out I wasn't a boy racer, she let me out on my own. Centaur seemed eager to sell me the demo TS after just one drive, whereas Subaru of Calgary had lots of new vehicles to choose from on the lot, so the demo vehicle wasn't pushed on me. Lynn was also good about phoning me at home to see if I wanted another test drive as demo vehicles became available. I probably would still be driving my '87 clunker if she hadn't eased me into a Subaru.

We settled quickly on a price without a lot of BS and theatrics. I offered a figure well below MSRP but comfortably above invoice so they only needed to make a token counteroffer. There were no surprise fees, no pressure to buy extended warranty or any extras I didn't want.

I had ordered a red OBS, due to arrive in a month. They found a different one in nearby Edmonton that they could provide earlier, but when it arrived, had slightly more than the 50km that they expected and that I had agreed in writing to accept.

There wasn't a lot of pressure to take this vehicle over the one arriving a month later, but they offered to throw in a few accesories to make up for the extra km. They accepted my cheque, washed it, tanked it up, and sent me on my way.

The only service experience I've had since was getting the accesories installed a week later; done promptly and car washed again.

Hmm...seems a lot of ppl got a great service there...

Not to be rude here but the reason made me go for Centaur Subaru is the first impression...I think the most important thing for me buying the car is sales men's first impression...

I went to Subaru of Calgary before I knew there are 2 Subaru dealers in Calgary... and Terry B. gave me a really bad impression..when my girlfriend and I went into the dealer, check out the cars about 15 mins, every sales just stand there and hanging around with no customer in the dealer but me and my girlfriend(its a weekday morning around 9-10) ....then we went over to ask Terry some question we had about leasing a car...when we about to leave the dealer Terry doesn't even offered to give us his card until my girlfriend asked for it ...he made me feel like if you don't have money then don't even bother coming and ask a bunch of questions....

this is the first time in my life buying a new car for myself... is that becasue I am just 22 year-old so they don't need to care too much to serve to a kid like me because a kid doesn't look like can afford the car? or is it because I am gonna lease the car instead of paying all the money to buy it?

after a few days I found the Centaur Subaru on the web..then I went to the Centaur, I met a young sales, Dan (or Daniel) he gave me a really good impression there....when I was there and checking if there is a WRX ..he came over and answered us a lot of information about the car and my leasing questions..even offered me the test drive right away without me asking for it..after the test drive we sat there and discuss over the car's detail about 2 hours and he didn't seems to be impatient....
but the bad thing is I only saw him twice in the dealer...after those two times he is like gone and never saw him again(made me thinking if I am dreaming or what) after he was gone... the one taking care of my car's deal is the sales manager...oh well he is not too nice either ....I asked him about what monthly payment will be if I wanna put 10 grand for down payment... and he questioned me do you have 10 grand? er I am like what in the hell is that:mad: .....but I still bought the car in Centaur just because the first impression is really nice....

sorry about the long post

Does anyone know how good the dealerships are in Edmonton (Subaru City and Rally Subaru) or Grand Prairie???

hmm this is a good thread. I was thinking about asking the Calgary Subaru owners here where to bring my Legacy in for service if I bring it down here next fall. I think I'll bring it to Subaru of Calgary after what GTB guy said. As for the showroom service review ForEverR2.5, it's good that I don't need to deal with them.

Anyone here dealt with Subaru of Calgary service department? How are they?

What about Centaur Subaru's service department?

I have 4 other questions:

How much are people paying for the WRX? (excluding tax)

What is the invoice cost for a WRX?

Does holdback apply in Canada (ie Can I get better deal if I get them to order one in, for example?)

SOA has 0.9% financing for 2 years; does Subaru Canada has anything similar? What is the lowest financing has anyone able to get?

Subaru City and Rally Subaru are owned by the same people. Service is excellent at Rally.

Glad to know there is a Subie dealership in Calgary as I'll probably be moving there in a couple of years. :)

Nobody seemed to be able to answer my questions on my last post, but for those who missed them here they are again:

Does anyone know if the dealers in Edm are good honest ones? Someone did mention that service is pretty at Rally Subaru.

Subaru of Calgary is in my opnion the best in Calgary if not Alberta. I ordered my 04 WRX wagon with moonroof last november. Was told it should be arrive in the 1st week of april, it didn't turn up so the gave me an 03 Outback until it arrived. I got in my opinion a great deal $$$$ each $ represents a figure I got off. I picked it up today (2nd week of april) and all is good. Game on after 1600km.

This will soon be the only dealership in W. Canada that's Mod friendly.

I doubt that. I talked to someone in the parts dept to see if I could get the STI wagon suspension locally, and he asks me "what's STI?".

Earlier I had ordered the 17mm wagon RSB, got the 20mm sedan bar instead. I noticed it straightaway, and they sent it back and got it right the second time. I hate driving to the NE, especially a completely wasted trip

I have agree that SOC is the best Subaru dealership in Calgary. I was at Centuar Subaru getting my rear O2 sensor replaced, and they tried to charge me $327 for it... i got it for around $300. This was after they forgot to order my O2 sensor after i brought it in, so i had to wait 2 weeks longer than when my car was scheduled to get fixed.

I've been to SOC before, and I test drove a TS there before getting my RS from Kelowna (they didn't have any in my price range in Calgary), and they were really friendly to me.

All I can say is im never going to Centuar Subaru again

I bought my 02' 2.5 TS wagon from Subaru of Calgary and would buy my future Subaru's from them. The main reason is that when I went to Centuar Subaru they treated like dirt.

This was my experience.
Went to Centuar Subaru with my dad to look at the 2.5 TS. I knew I would be getting the 2.5 TS (it was the only one I could really afford). The sales guy was a a$$. He wouldn't even talk to me. He went straight to my dad asking what kind of car he was looking for. My dad says, "I'm not buying the car. I'm with them (pointing to me and my sister - 2 young "kids" if you will).
And he's like oh, but you are paying for it right?
My dad: no. :p

This shoudl have been my first sign to leave. but I didn't. I stayed and received more verbal abuse from them. really, it was a bad bad bad experience. And it went down hill from there.

I would never go to Centuar - even if my car broke down in front of their dealership! - so, that is why I like Subaru of Calgary.
 by default. oh well.
