Went through the AC vent with the wiring, and ran the antenna through the carpet along the doors to the rear. No AC for passinger.

It's the cleanest way I could think of mounting it. There are no wires dangling or exposed. The power is spliced from the cig lighter.

I don't care what they chose to categorize it, Radiohead is good stuff. ;)

roady2's suck. you can get one for free right now for registering for a year of xm radio service. to me the only acceptable type of satellite radio is one with a direct connection, either ai net, or RCA's. Youre paying for cd quality music so why not get what you payed for.

It's FM quality and that's fine for me. I'm not an audiofile, I just enjoy the variety of songs. I'm one of the few that actually likes the stock stereo setup.

^ sorry, im an mecp installer and i have just grown to hate any type of fm modulation. I also hate when people think of a wired fm modulator as a 'direct connection' and think that is going to solve all of their problems. all of the sat radio 'pods' are garbage in my opinion.

I've had a Roady 2 that was like 3 months old just completely die on me. I've hear Delphi's service department sucks so I ended up buying the Audiovox XR9 for the home and work (and the occasional rental car) and I have the XM direct hooked up to my Alpine HU. Enjoy XM though, it's great.

that is a bad spot, you lose 1) air vent 2) cup holder functionality, and 3) you are going to have glare up there, and when the a/c is running you are gonig to have condensation in the unit, and an fm modulated xm unit is going to souind like crap.

While FM modulation obviously isn't the best solution, I think the sound quality is very much acceptable...my dads got it in his Beamer and it sounds supurb for what it is...

Nice install, just be careful about that condensation mentioned above.

1) Passenger air vent, I still have my 2...so far no complaints as they seem to be completely distracted by the XM unit.
2) Cup holder still 100% useable
3) No glare, used it at autox with AC blasting for extended amounts of time in extremely hot FLA weather, while staging/pit area. Checked the exterior unit for condensation, no signs. FM quality is fine for me!

FYI guys...this is the first mod I've done to the interior, let alone sound. I'm not into car audio, just wanted more variety of tunes while I'm driving to autox/rallyx events.
