Hi
I have a impreza RS 2005 and I want to upgrade my front and back speaker. At home, I have some 5.25" (2.5" deep) for front and I have a spacer of 1/2" and I have some 4" (3" deep) for my rear.
Do you know if I'm ok with that or I will need to make me another spacer for front or back to fit my speaker in my door? I will check that tomorrow, but advice before will be great.
thanks

I believe for the front- you will need an adapter for the 5.25 to fit. Spacing is usually about an 1/8" for 6.5 speakers IIRC

All the info you need is in the sticky.

offset, now that you have an actual "manifesto", you need a catchier name for it. Maybe the "Commonest (question) Manifesto"? ;)

Finally the best way for me to know and get my answer is to do it myself.
So I know that you have 1.75" distance between door metal and glasses. I keep same size of speaker (5.25" but go with component) but I needed a spacer of 1" so I did it one custom and I glue my tweeter at 3 points and everything work perferct and the door snap on perfectly.
For my rear, I keep also same size (4") because anyway 5.25" don't fit in the hole and you can't go with a spacer bigger than 0.3" if you want to put your door back. For the rear, you can got pretty deep so if you buy 4", you don't need to be worry about deep because you have a lot of space.
Also I changed my head unit and honnestly...now it's rock. 100 time better then original. Just the head unit make a difference.
