Hey guys, I'm about to head up to Anchorage in a little bit and I want some of those Sparco mud-flaps that you can buy at the Suby dealership. Can anybody go and pick up some white, black, or blue mud flaps (in that order, if the don't have white)and ship them to me in Juneau? I'd be willing to pay the person a couple bucks too. Thanks. -Gene

sparcos come in clear, red and blue. I think we only have blue, but we may have a set of clear ones left. No hardware included.:(

Nothing against the Sparcos, but I just got the Rallyarmor ones too. They installed nicely. :)

The pics aren't the greatest, but you get the idea. The mud is from before the install, they've been working on most streets leading to my house.

Are the Sparcos available anywhere else locally, or just Conti?

I'm glad you posted AKOBS; I was about to ask you what kind of flaps were on your car!

yeah, sparcos suck, especially the blue ones. haha. i got em, and they've been good since winter. i got em cause they dwarf the rally armor ones. plus they were only about $30 including the hardware i used. if i wasnt a poor college student i would be rockin the rally armors:banana:

also, they are pretty thin compared to the RA ones. but i guess they're supposed to be flexible like that.

Got the Rally Armors too but for the Evo and already been tested this past winter. I used to get snow build up big time in my inner rear bumper and over time it forms into a block of ice. Now snow just slides off. :D

I was going to take them off for the summer but since Anchorage has so much gravel on the roads I opted just to leave it on.

How much are the blue mud flaps? What do you use for hardware? -Gene

That's what I've got, too (RallyArmor). I'm happy with 'em--from pics alone they seem better than the Sparcos, but that's speculation and opinion.

the rallyarmor ones have a nice hardware pack, and utilize factory holes. if ease of install is important to you buy the ra ones. the sparcos are a lot cheaper, but you must decide where to mount them, (use a level guys;) )pop your own holes with an awl, and start screwing into the bumper ect. I prob. drilled 4+ holes into the bumper on each end of the car to make sure they are secure. keep in mind the bumper is plastic so some extra holes won't hurt it. Unless it hurts you doing it:D as far as screws, I just bought a pack of like 25 or so from lowes. stainless is a good idea, to avoid rust stains down the road. afaik ra flaps utilize stainless hardware also. if you mounted sparcos with only 4 or so bolts like the ra flaps, they would flex and fall off:D they require many bolts as they are thin. at highway speeds they fold back also, so guys in the valley commuting may not get the benifit of flaps when they need them the most. wow that's like at least 4 cents worth of blabbing... :D

The sparcos will look like this after a few months because the material is thin and weaker (which is why you stated they fell off if you didnt use extra screws)

reason your sparcos failed is improper install. they are too low, this will happen to any flap. Good thing the holes were predrilled in your r/a's, they are thick enough to fold the fender when you bottom out. :D

Cheap-o napa flaps. They don't sell the exact ones anymore, but they sure were great. I think I'm going to buy some of the same material from home depot and make new ones. They are GREAT, don't fold, stay the same shape, etc. And they cost like $10 a pair.

And of course, the first picture is under trademark from JordyB Incorporated, JordyB.com.

You'll need it if you keep the tires on! :) OK, it's not nearly that bad, but I got frustrated with the winter tires on.

The fronts went on fine with just turning the steering wheel all the way to each side. The rears I had to take the tires off, I couldn't get to the middle bolt with the tires on.

Still pretty easy. The STi should look pretty damn sweet with them on.

Yeah, I was more frustrated with the rears--I didn't take mine off seeing as how I was in the "move-in" process and had virtually no tools and no jack. :)

Fronts gave me a few problems but the rears went on in 10mins.
