When changing my headlight bulb in my 2.5RS, why won't the damn wires disconnect?

In the manual it says:

Disconnect the electrical wires, then remove the rubber cover.

Remove the spring,

Change the bulb,

Put the spring back in,

Put the Rubercover on and reconnect the wires.


I can't even get the damn wires to disconnect... and I been at it for like 20 min.

W T F?

you have to squeeze the sides as you pull it off

I found it a lot easier to leave the connecter on the bulb until you have unclipped the spring. Then pull the entire bulb out of the socket so you have a better look at it. Then remove the connector.

What bulbs are fitted?
I had the same problem on my 00 classic with H4 bulbs. The connectors were so tight onto one bulb that the terminals actually pulled out of it.

Yea, I ended up breaking one of the bulbs on there (pulled out the metal connector into the electrical plug) but I got her done, :D
