2004-2005 STi and rs/ts owners, hey I would like to swap someone my fogs, covers, switch and relay for a set of the covers. color is not important. One fog has a pinhole, it still works brightly but I havn't used it since it broke. I would put vinyl covers on them or replace the one, about 110 to 125 on internet. that is still cheaper than the fog light kit for 04-05, and the covers can be easily painted. have the stock bulbs, and 3 xenon bulbs for them.

So what is your price or is it just a straight trade. I'm kind of interested.

just a straight trade considering one is damaged :)

Haha not bad. With those fogs, can they house a HID bulb? Do you know if they make an HID bulb for them. I really like the projector fog lights, but I I really want to have some projector HID fog lights for the winter. I love the bright white light, especially when they light up the dark roads in winter time :p :)

Thanks,
-Wes

they look high temp with the xenon's compared to stock, bluer than silverstars for sure

bulb type is h3, do they make hid's in that size?

i think so. but you would have to mod the back of the foglight to get the bulb to fit. HID bulbs are like 3x the size of an H3.

you should get yellowstars in em:D

Heh alright I guess I could look at em.

how hard is the install?

I'll do it, you just need to get my red covers painted blue. I'm going in for a paint job, so i don't care what color they are.

we can do it anytime, It'll take about an hour, including the relay, switch, lights and brackets. you can leave the covers off until they're painted if you want.

remember my r/h one is chipped.

hmmm, very tempting. i just installed hella optilux projectors though. i wonder how the stockers will compare. is there anywhere in town to get some yellow foglight bulbs for em? also, can they handle higher wattage bulbs like 85w+? i had some clear covers for 04+ fogs, maybe i need to dig em up. did you want a trade + some cash?

00Maddog
10-01-2005, 07:18 AM
no, no cash. just trade. one fog costs over $100, the entire kit isn't much more than that, so they're really not worth much to me. if you have the clear covers, that would be ideal. we could install them while they're off the car. or you could bring them to me at work and I'll get em all ready for you.

i think you could get away with spraying them with a rattle can charged with your paint code from napa/carquest. I have some good primers around here somewhere. I'll help paint them if that's what you want to do.

you should do your headlights too!

btw I bought some cheap bulbs for them, and they burned out. so you will need H3 style bulbs.

I work 9-2 saturday if you want to bring in those covers.

Jerry,

I know I'm really busy and I have a hard time keeping my word with appointments, but lets try and meet up somewhere. I'm free this Sunday to stop by and look at them. Can you tell me exactly what kind of bulb is within them? With it getting dark outside now I've really been thinking about the projector HID fog lights.

I will research to see if there is an HID bulb to fit inside the projector that way if they look fine, I'll take em this Sunday.

Thanks a lot,
Wes

Call me anytime at 952-4949

***Update***

I just got done doing some research. You say that those are H3 style bulbs? Do they come with a stock harness i.e. power source? If so I can buy a Philips 6000k kit for 447.99. Unfortunately I would have to buy 2 new Philips bulbs for my headlights to match the fogs. If they are H3, I just need to look at that chip and I think we have a trade :D.

i will trade for JDM fogs

00Maddog

well i have the switch, relay, and fogs and covers removed, so if anyone is up for this let me know. i took the r/h side fog apart cause it has a pinhole in it from the chip, and glued it back together. since it was broke, i'm willing to kick in $40 as well as the trade, as a new light costs $112 from subie gal. the covers cost $80, so i dunno that sounds about right.

so I pay you $40 to swap covers+switch blank for fogs, relay, switch, covers that would need to be painted your color, and i'll do the install for free.

you could prob live with the chip since i sealed things up, otherwise you could kick in the additional $75 and order a new light, or use your subaru bucks mike haha. I only have one stock bulb that works, since the one with a hole burned out. but i would reccomend xenon or the gold narva bulbs gene has, those rock.

hit me up by monday or tuesday guys, otherwise the car will already be at the paint shop and deals off.

thanks

Jerry

Wait, you're getting the car painted before winter?

Green flames or orange flames on the sides?

Dude I'm totally down for this. Just let me know when you want my car. I was thinking just let you have the fog covers and I'll run around without anything until I buy the HID Conversion kit. I found the one that I want and I think it'll work fine. I plan on getting that within the next month here. Please let me know when you need me at your house and I'll be there.

Thanks a lot,

-Wes

hey if you want i could just get the covers painted black for you instead of giving you $40. i bet i could get them to do that since they're painting a bunch of stuff for me anyway.

yeah the timing sucks, but i have to do it now regardless. the painter was out of town til today otherwise it would have been a couple weeks ago. i am going with the stock color which i like very much. i wanted the green but the jambs would look bad after a couple years of scratching. like blood underneath lol. if it's the same color, and i scratch/chip it, you just rub through the primer and voila, red again haha.

That would be awesome. I'll give you a call tomorrow afternoon. Are these the stock fog lights, like the projector kind or are these aftermarket?

Thanks,
