Hey guys,

I currently have the JDM headlights with the H.I.D kit installed. It's some chepa brand named Eagle Eye or something with 8000k bulbs, not sure if thats right, but the color is Purple. I want to change out to (h1) 4100k bulbs, would that make more useful light compared to the 8000k? Would the output be greater? Also, would changing ballast from the cheapo brand to another brand create more lighting as well?

Thanks everyone!

yes, 8000k light should be very blue/purple, probly throws down about 2500 lumens, mabe less

4100k light is alot whiter and with it you might actualy be able to see, puts out about 3200 lumens :P

There's some great info in the HID FAQ thread (i.e. HID Bulb color) on top of this forum:

Didnt find out another thing I had a question on.

Since i have a cheap Aftermarket HID Ballast. Will a 4300k Phillips BULB (h1) fit into my ballast?? Is it all the same when its a (h1) kit?

Thanks

You need to get the right connectors. Usually HID kit vendors who sell just the bulbs also sell the connectors so you can use your ballasts with the new bulbs.
