My 10 month old daughter was transported to Providence this evening to have a couple of surgeries performed. We brought her into the ER in Fairbanks on saturday night because she was having a hard time breathing. She is in stable condition, but they are just being extra cautious because she has a medical history. So I'll be down in Anchorage for a couple of days (mostly at the hospital). Keep your eyes peeled for a filthy bugeye with an obnoxious wing, and even more obnoxious exhaust.

My brother and I made the trip tonight, and it was quite an experience. I slept through most of it, and I was driving.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. Doug

Thanks, she will go into surgery at noon. Its a pretty simple operation, but they don't do it in fairbanks so we are here. If all goes well I may go wrx hunting this evening.

You sound incredibly composed and calm. I would probably be freaking out if I was in your situation and it was my daughter.

Sorry to hear about your daughter. Hope everything goes well. Smoke is still pretty thick here. http://www.arcticcam.com/cam.html

Surgery went well, and my daughter is in the recovery room. She had some problems when she was born, and she had to have surgery at 2 days old to repair her esophogus. This was all sort of related to that. We will probably be here for a few more days so they can watch her.

glad everything went ok. i work in radiology, so if you see a big guy, with a bald head say hi, and if she has anything done in our department, i'll make sure everything goes good!

I think she had a chest xray done this morning, and maybe one tomorrow. Her name is Adelle Patterson, and she is the cutest 10 month old ever. You won't be able to miss her. I was out a little today, and saw a red WRX on old seward. Thats all for now, but I'll get out some more this week.

Most of the smoke disappeared last night. Blue sky and sunny here.

Thats great news mike. My daughter got to start on food again today, and now she is feeling good. We'll stay down in anchorage through the weekend, and hopefully I'll figure out where everyone cruises.
