alright so i have everything installed correctly and wired up. everything works fine without a problem. however, the only problem i have is that when i put down the e-brake down, the "brake" light on the cluster goes from fully lit to just dimming instead of turning off completely. i think this might be caused by unplugging the drl's. anyone experience this and know how to solve this problem? thanks guys

Did you inactivate the DRLs by removing the module behind the glove box (not the module under the hood)? If not, try that.

yeah i unplugged the module from behind the glove box. i tried repluggin git in and unplugging it while the car was on to see if it was that that was causing the light to stay on and it was. where is the module under the hood. i wanna try that one, unless it doesnt work. thanks

Sounds like the cluster light is getting a small amount of current leaking through it. Have you done *any* other electrical mods besides the HIDs? If not, how exactly did you hook up the HIDs (where did you hook up the power, ground, and the relay(s) that turn on the HIDs?)?

well i hooked up the hids using the instructions on jdmpartstx.com, but they use the stock lighting harness to splice into. other than that i dont konw what else woudl cause it cause all my other electrical mods didnt do this. i konw if i plug in the drl's then the brake light goes off. so i dont konw what to do. thanks for your help though

BTW, here is the thread for the glove box DRL unit:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=221676
This thread shows the DRL resistor module under the hood:

Can you post the exact install link at jdmpartstx.com? I couldn't find it in a quick look.

alright so i guess mine just had to be the only subaru out there with this problem. i thought it might be low brake fluid levels but no. i have no idea what else to do.
