View Full Version : IPF Crystal White 4000K Bulbs
west_minist 08-20-2005, 01:51 AM Is there anyone using IPF bulbs?

Is so, how do you find them?
How do there compare to other bulbs?
west_minist 08-21-2005, 02:01 PM Bump!
Mulder 08-21-2005, 02:06 PM Never heard of them, and they look like the typical hyperwhite crap to me.
west_minist 08-21-2005, 02:21 PM IPF make 4x4 lights, including for bikes, which are tops in the industry. Have spoken to people about them and there are good in other models like the BMW and so on.
I am curious on Subaru owners review. Hopefully, I will be getting some soon and will be able to compare them to PIAA Extreme White Plus.
I will let you all know.
west_minist 10-02-2005, 02:38 AM Ok Guys.
I gotten the lights friday and there are sweet.
The low beam pattern has move to where it should be. A little closer to the car, instead of down the road. Before I had to burn my fogs to see up close. My fogs are PIAA Xtreme White Plus.
My fogs still help, but when both are on @ low beam, the road lights up.
The high beam is like day and night. My PIAA Xtreme White Plus cannot compare to them.
My next move from where, may be HID. But for right now, there lights are fantastic.
I must note that after a 4months + on the PIAA, I notice that the glass had some head marks on them.
I normal turn my lights off when I come to a park, but I cannot tell how much life is left in the bulbs. I guess there could last for a year.
I do not have a Digital camera, but I will have to take some pics to show the forum how the IPF X54 works.
Now burning my fogs, my rev would drop a bit.
Burning the PIAA, a slight change. Nothing much a really notice.
Burning the IPF on low beam, you notice a drop in rev.
I installed the Sun Hypervoltage System and HKS Ground system.
Both systems came w/ everything to installed the devices. I mean everything that you could possibly that you could think about.
After the HVS, I had very little voltage drop when using my power windows and lights, especially the windows.
I do not know, but I hope this voltage stabilisation helps my bulb life.

overwattage... not by much, but still... they don't look all that special to me.
west_minist 10-02-2005, 03:14 AM There draw current. :)
low bean suppose to be 180W, hi-beam = 140W
Honestly, there are like night and day compare to the PIAA, especially @ hight beam.
Haven't had a lot of driving using them yet, but I am very very impress.
The only thing that would be better would be HID, which I would go next when I feel I need more light.
west_minist 10-03-2005, 01:35 AM I compare them to the PIAA I have.
The PIAA is a tab blue, but the light output is slightly lower @ low beam.
I would say that the IPF X54 light output is very close to intensity of the PIAA high beam on low beam. As expected, high beam is way more than the PIAA.
Put it this way, its like having fog lights or better, flood lights. You could really injoy spirited driving is no light areas.
I remember driving in the country with PIAA and fogs on and saying, damn, I need more light.
As I said before, my only concern is the life of the bulbs. I have read over 1 year of usage, but time will tell.
This is just an update.
i'll just chime in a little, i run IPFs on my Jeep and couldn't be happier with them.
west_minist 02-06-2006, 01:39 AM After a while having them, I love them. I just wish I had more light :) Did someone say HID?
I would have to go w/ a different light setup all together for te HID effect, bit the IPF is beautiful.
Its an experience. No problem with car flashing me. I use to get that w/ a PIAA a big, but then again, I adjust my head light w/ the IPF.
But running a slight blue haze light w/ the IPF really really light up the road.
I must get some pics if I can, but don't have a camera, so I will get my friend to do it and you will really see what I am talking about.
Again, HID is the last of lasts - if there is such a word :) LOL
