There is a thread here on how to turn them off on a WRX. There is a relay behind the glove box you need to unplug. I've never seen them on an STi since they have HIDs. All the 04 - 05 STis I've seen don't have the daytime running lights. Not sure about 06 STi.

The 04 and 05 STi's dont have DRL.

I believe that the '06 STi really does have DRLs, (SOA has been saying that the '04-'05 had DRLs, but that is not the case) but the lights are very different from the '04-'05s. Wiring may be the same though.

I have never seen it claimed that the 04/05 USDM STIs had DRL (which is good, because they don't) but the WRX's definitely did have them. I believe also, all canadian STis have DRL but they don't have HID.

They are uber easy to disable, though.

SOA claiming that the '05 STi has DRLs (http://www.subaru.com/shop/specifications.jsp?year=2005&model=IMPREZA&trim=WRX_STI_SEDAN&category=SAFETY%20FEATURES) (The last feature in the list)

Here's the main DRL control unit from the WRX:

Im pretty sure the DRL's on an '06 is a completely separate light from the HID projector. There is a little bulb that stays on, then the actual HID projector, wich isnt a DRL.

That's it? Just unplug it and there won't be any CEL?

All STis and all Subarus since the early or mid 90's in Canada have DRLs.

No need to bump this two-year-old thread, there is plenty of information here on DRLs.
