They are apparently Yokohama Advan A82 in 205/50R17.

Can anyone take a few pics? I'm looking for the DOT ID number so we can go further towards fully identifying these tires.

I have these two shots so far:

This is new info! Anybody have further data on these tires? They do not appear on any Yokohama or Advan website in the US or Japan.

They seem to have the exact same tread pattern as that on the Yoko Geolandar H/T G900 (215/60R16) that comes stock on the '03+ Subaru Forester, and also the Yoko Geolandar H/T G046 (195/55R15) that comes stock on the 02+ Suzuki Aerio.

Interesting. Maybe they requested a "sport" sized tire with offroad capabilities. :D

Yes.

Treadwear is rated at like a 130 or 170 or 180. I forgot which one, but its less than 200 and more than 100. But are these really All-Seasons as someone said at another thread?

I'll look at one tomorrow and write down anything I see, if I'm not too busy. I am REALLY interested in these ADVANS, but never hear of an A82.

Pakin,

They do appear to be all-seasons. They have essentially the same tread pattern as the Yoko Geolandar light truck tire that was equipped OEM on many late-model Foresters.

See my link above for a pic of the tread.

holy crap. 160. Subaru must be getting commission from Bridgestone and Yokohama for tire sales, cuz people are going to be replacing these every 10k.

As I recall the Subaru-specific RE92s were also 160 treadwear, yet they wear like iron.

Yup. Treadwear ratings are completely irrelevant.

That's the part that you should be concerned with. M+S = Mud & Snow. They are not stickies.

Well, it's all a matter of degrees.

The Bridgestone Potenza RE950, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, and Pirelli Pzero Nero M+S are all M+S rated, and all handle very well.

I'm more interested in the sidewall stiffness, weather performance, and breakaway characteristics than I am their ultimate lateral grip capabilities.

The Bridgestone Potenza RE92 is not a great all-season... but the Bridgestone Potenza RE950 is! I'm curious where this Advan lies in terms of performance compared to other all-season tires, and whether it outperforms the stock RE92s equipped on other Subaru models.
