OK,
So I have my Crawford R3 assembled and ready to go back into my STi. However, then I notice the following:
The stock block has 9 bolts connecting the block to the tranny (2 for the starter)
The R3 (ej22t based) has 4. And only one of these are for the starter.
Now even if only the 4 bolts are sufficient, which i assume to be the case, that still leaves the question about mounting the starter. Only solution I see is tapping the hole in the tranny (which currently has no threads) and put a bolt in there to connect the starter to the tranny only. Then only one of the bolts for the starter would go into the shortblock.
What has everyone else done who have connected a ej22t based block up to a Sti 6 speed tranny?
