I know there's a review of the complete Group N bushing kit, and this particular part has been reviewed to death, but I figured what the heck. ;)
Installation:
On a scale of 1-5, I'd rate the difficulty of this install a 2. If you can change your oil, you can do this. Not difficult at all. All you need are 14 and 17 millimeter sockets. Extensions and a wobble make it easier. I basically removed the 4 bolts holding the mount and the 4 holding the crossmember. This leaves the tranny kinda hanging there, but I don't think it's a problem since it's still attached to the engine and the driveshaft. It took me less than an hour not really hurrying and taking about 15 minutes to help my dad with something.
Driving Impressions:
I had read that several people complained of excessive noise and vibration, but I can honestly say that I noticed virtually no change. There's a bit more NVH above 3500 RPM or so, but nothing bad at all. The "rubber banding" effect from the drivetrain is greatly reduced, but not as much as I thought it would be. The major improvement I noticed was the improvement in shifting feel. It no longer feels as though you have to wait a second after putting in the clutch in order to make a smooth shift. I was having problems with second gear grinding a little, but they appear to be gone.
Summary:
I would recommend this part to virtually anyone. It's an improvement over stock, but if you're expecting night-and-day differences, you may be disappointed. Overall, I'm happy with it, but I'm left wanting to try the solid mounts Primm sells (or used to- don't see them on their site any more).
