I was leaving Government Hill Gate on Elmendorf, passed the lights, then I sped up to get around the slow (10 under the speed limit) line of cars. I zipped back into the right lane when I noticed in my rear mirror and side mirror what I thought was just a Ford Must(ake)ang. The dude looked like he almost lost it on that curve after the light. Then I watched him get behind me as if he wanted to play follow-the-leader. I sat fat and happy at 40 mph which, of course, wasn't satisifying for this fellow. After he passed me, I seen it was a Cobra with airman tags. I was perfectly happy to let him play cop-bait. You'd think after the near death of one airman that people would have learned. I guess not.

Heh, in hind-sight maybe I should have taken the same path he did to see if he found himself a new friend of the red and blue. Instead, I had to turn off onto 3rd to go get my GF from work. I guess he showed me. :o

mustangs (imo) are not in american muscle class..... especially the new models. when they had 400+ hp, that was american muscle. of course a cobra is a little different w/ 390 hp.

and an airman you said? well, there goes his entire paycheck for the payment and insurance! lol

I don't think that Mustangs have made more than 400hp since the 1960's, and even then, their methods of rating HP were questionable, at best.

LowNSlow: It was a black Cobra with gold lettering.

The Mustake definitely had Airman Stickers on it. Like someone said, there goes all the free cash for that boy. :) That was the first thing I looked at before considering the STi was the insurance. If I would have ended up paying more than $200 I wouldn't have purchased the vehicle. This guy in that Mustang Cobra can't have too much spare coinage and with the prices of gas rising...well, I see that thing getting parked and that dude taking the Looser Cruiser to get to places.

Yeah, I had a few mustangs rev on me, but that is the first Cobra I seen. I had learned my lesson back in Nebraska when I was younger that street racing is bad. :) I will get to the speed limit really quick, but stop around the limit. Hell, I guess I can even get pulled over for that now. :( Ah well, I kinda deserved that run-in with the law in NE. :)

some guy was reving his red firebird next to me the other day. I just smiled and kept on driving. Will keep an eye out for this cobra... so I can allow him by to pass the cops first. :D

I have no idea if it was modded. However, if he punched it all the way when he passed me, I wasn't all that impressed. So, it may not be modded, but I do not know for sure. I didn't notice anything special from the outside. I really thought it was a regular mustang until he passed me and I seen the "Cobra" lettering on the back bumper.

I am more curious if this fella is going to be around with the same car next year. :) If he is paying as much as I suspect he is for both insurance and payments, he and the First Shirt of his unit are going to become best buds. :P

LOL no kidding. Doesn't seem to take much to get this guy going either. All I did was jump a few slow cars and got back into place. I guess he also messed with AK_2002_WRX at the Comissary, whom I am assuming was just getting some eats. Happy fishing.

Sumthin about those rustang drivers really pisses other drivers off. I know a certain rustang driver that got a gun pulled on them for pulling dumb showoff stunts like that.
