Momentum EJ5-40T Combo!
The Momentum EJ5-40T turbocharger is the “base” model turbo for the ej20/ej25 powered cars manufactured by Subaru. The smallest turbo Momentum currently makes for the WRX/STi cars, it flows 580CFM and is capable of supporting over 400 crank horsepower. It has Momentum's most efficient turbine wheel, paired with their smallest compressor wheel. This combination produces the quickest turbo spool up time, and delivers more than enough power for the EJ-20 and EJ-25 engine.
Momentum is confident in the design, performance, and reliability of the journal bearing system, and includes a 1 year 12,000 mile warranty for every journal bearing turbo they sell. Ball bearing units don’t offer a warranty like this because they simply are not as durable as journal bearing systems, and most ball bearing turbo cartridge failures are not easily corrected. A majority of ball bearing unit failures require total replacement of the turbo cartridge.
