Mods:

VF22 turbo
STi pink injectors
Walbro fuel pump
TurboXS 2.5" turbo-back (Magnaflow muffler) + gutted up-pipe
XEDE (used Vishnu Stage 2 map with modified boost table as the base)
Tuning done at Dyno4mance (http://www.dyno4mance.com/) on their Dyno Dynamics dyno.

93 octane: (250HP, 230TQ)

http://mywebpages.comcast.net/djspace/timeslips/parts/vf22_93_afr.png

100+ octane (mix of 93 and 110): (264HP, 255TQ)
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/djspace/timeslips/parts/vf22_100.png
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/djspace/timeslips/parts/vf22_100_afr.png

Couldn't get any more boost out of the XEDE on the race gas map because I need a different restrictor pill but it feels pretty good.

Supposedly multiply by 1.12 for Dynojet numbers.

I see an intercooler in your future.

With a VF22 I don't think I could gain enough power (20WHP in my opinion) from a bigger intercooler to convince me that it's worth the money. I'm not going to pay $800 or more for less than 10WHP.

get an intercooler if not for the power then for the sake of covering all the bases. You will have heat soak issues, and if you plan on tracking the car at all that means slower times and higher intake temps.

an IC could most def add 20 WHP most likely between 15-20.

I also have vf22 setup and I got 278whp with stock IC on the Dynojet dyno. After I installed Greddy IC(small FMIC) and turbo inlet hose, I made 299whp on the same dyno.

lol i have a similar dilemma.. vf22 with supporting mods.. but.. get a tmic or fmic? and is the money worth the extra 20whp?

I made 280awhp on a MUSTANG dyno with just a wimpy sti intercooler and a vf30.

you people need a better tuner.

Perhaps you need to become familiar with a wider range of dynamometers. Put your car on a Dyno Dynamics dyno and see if it makes 280WHP, lol.

A stock WRX puts down 145WHP on this Dyno Dynamics dyno. From what I've gathered a stock WRX puts down 165-175 on a Mustang dyno so maybe your STi IC isn't as useful as you think. I've seen the results of a car with a VF30 dyno with stock IC and then dyno with STi IC and it was a 3WHP gain; not worth the money in my opinion.

278 sounds about right when comparing my dyno chart to a Dynojet chart. (250 × 1.12). I might have to look into that GReddy IC. A gain of over 10WHP may be convincing enough to toss more money in, heh.

May not seem like a lot of horsepower I guess, but you have a good curve, a lot of area under the curve. Good power ;)

which APS did you go with? I am looking for a DR500 since I really do hate the 850, its just too bloody big for a VF series and if the car lags hard what's the point, I should have just gotten an STi for the money I'm wasting.

It's kinda cool to know you're making 280 awhp on a bunch of stock subaru parts :) not to mention on midwest piss grade 91.

I never said my sti IC was great. It DID, however, make my car a lot more stable! I referred to it in my post as wimpy, I think we've established that. lag and heatsoak are non issues, however

I have the APS DR500 my full boost hits at about 3600 (19psi) I just put a JDM 6MT tonite so I plan on getting a more aggressive retune (22psi) since the tranny can handle these power levels, I'm safe!

If you are still running stock 2.0 motor, do not retune more aggressive than 19 psi unless you have a water/alky injection kit. You have to worry about the motor from that point, not the tranny.

Nice numbers dude, I like the way the curves hold. Dynodynamics is a beast of a dyno for putting up good numbers, don't worry about it. I've seen a 588whp evo on one that could definately make 700whp on a dynojet, don't sweat the haters, your power looks good.

Yeah, it feels pretty good but you probably wouldn't know it if they tuned your car first, heheh. If you guys are heading out to the 1/4 one day let me know a few days ahead so I can get some gas (unless they have it at BG). I expect 11's from you!

I made 285 whp on my VF22'd WRX on a Mustang Dyno. It was a stage 4 with a Blitz FMIC. 21 psi.

so on the 93 octane, is run 1 (220whp) the Vishnu stg2 basemap and run 13 (250whp) is after custom tuning?

Just need some clarification.

Run 1 was the vishnu base map for the vf-30 with the boost turned way down since he's running a vf-22. This was done for safety reasons since he was getting a custom tune anyways.

Some guys from Fastech Motorsports, and i are going down to dyno4mance on sept. 10th to get our cars tuned. If any of you all want to go down and watch or something your more than welcome to. If any of you all have been to KK in knoxville you should know us.

There are a number of options you can choose from:
The ebay XOXO TMICs are huge (over 700 cu) and cheap ($400). I have a buddy who has one and it performed just as well as the TBXS TMIC.
You could also make an IC sprayer system that works manually or off a boost pressure switch.
I have a set-up that runs off my UTEC solenoid switch. You can tap off your washer bottle sprayer and pick up an Anco (65-01) washer pump for $12 plus some nylon tubing, nozzles and a switch.

It allowed me to run higher boost and advance the timing w/o seeing any knock.

I pulled 254hp/283tq on Dyno4mance's dyno and 275hp/304tq on TopSpeeds with the exact same set up and very similar weather. That kind of supports your math. My mods at the time was a basic txs stage 4 with a vf34 on a 2.5 short block.

i would recommend getting at least a bigger top mount ic. You are leaving about 20hp on the table.

I have this same setup. I was restricted to 250AWHP until I added the APS V.2 TMIC. It got me to 275AWHP on pump gas. It's worth it!

I was thinking of going to TopSpeed the same day but didn't want to take the time to drive and buy gas.

I may just eventually buy a good aftermarket TMIC but if it doesn't put out I'm tossing it. :D

Well I'm running a Hyperflow TMIC. VF22, UTEC, tune by clark. 270whp 93oct on Mustang dyno with a shop fan in 104*F ambient. UTEC logs show 32C max air temps while doing hard 4th gear HW pulls in 97*F Weather in desert humidity. At least thats some objective data to consider. I would go FMIC and spring your wastegate (I hold 23psi at redline with wastgate spung and Perrin EBCS. Also, according to logs I spool 300rpm's faster and peak 200rpms faster with the Perrin ;)

That vf22 is going to hold you back from making much more horsepower I made 280hp/315tq (on KTRs dyno dynamics) on my wrx with a crawford S2 block (2.5l,) vf22, and a perrin fmic. That was at about 18-19 psi.
