It's 11 wires, and IAP sells a harness for it. It's practically plug n play if you use AVCS heads... werkInProgress 08-31-2005, 01:03 AM Sombody said i have to buy the jdm harness, and ecu..I want to run my wrx ecu with my utec..And i cant do that with the v7,8 heads..And avcs..Can I??? benjaminetanyahoo 08-31-2005, 09:10 AM I never did this, but I'm pretty sure you will be fine using your WRX harness, the IA harness and JDM ecu, somebody correct me if I"m wrong. YOu can also buy a UTEC for the JDM V7/8 ecus Matt Monson 08-31-2005, 11:47 AM Without getting wrapped up in all the different maybes that are being thrown about, I will answer your question. The answer is yes, your stock manifold will bolt up. I would suggest taking the time to port match it before you install the engine. I have a V6 manifold, and the ports are about 1/8" larger than USDM Ej205 WRX heads. I am going to assume the converse will hold true for the v6 heads versus your WRX manifold. And I like your logic. I don't see AVCS as any sort of performance advantage. And the engine you are building gets all the benefits of the JDM parts while keeping it within your USDM shell and ZERO wiring... Hurley 2.5 WRS 08-31-2005, 08:33 PM now, im wondering matt, is can you swap the sensors form the US wrx mani to the V6... then, still no wiring, but you have the better manifold. im just not sure of the differences, havent looked at either up close. supermoose 09-01-2005, 03:48 PM yes. you most likely 85% chance can. if teh wiring from a 93 ej18 will swap right over to a 98 ej20dohc........ Hurley 2.5 WRS 09-01-2005, 07:27 PM im wondering about TGVs though, never heard of V6s having them. Matt Monson 09-02-2005, 02:21 PM v6 doesn't have the TGV's. You would need an ECU flash, like Cobb's, that will delete the TGV's signals... |
