Nice find!
I noticed under the "Limited" option it says 4 speed electronically controlled transmition? But you can still get the 5mt.?. Is the 4eat included w/ the limited?

former3g

I believe those that want the 4EAT on the WRX "must" get the Limited. The 5mt is still available on the Limited. It better be, because that's what I'm getting.

Thanks for the update. :)

This is odd: The WRX comes with 17x6.5" rims, and not 17x7" rims like that found on the L-GT. Why? They use the same size tires as the L-GT. Even more odd is that the Legacy 2.5i, with narrower 205/50x17 tires, also gets 17x7" rims. Why does the WRX get narrower 6.5" rims?

That's a mistake. The '06 WRX specs at media.subaru.com say the wheels are 17x7".

Ouch. $28k is going to be hard to justify for an Impreza WRX wagon with the limited package. The weird thing I noticed is that it says you get the 4EAT included with that package, but you can still select 4EAT or 5MT. If you select 4EAT, it charges another $1000. :que:? I selected a 5MT and it charged me $1000 as well. ***?

The white wagon w/ black leather interior = sweetness.

Yeah, don't expect the brochures for a few weeks.... They've all been ordered but they are the slowest shipping item Subaru has. Needless to say, everyone will have the new WRX's before they we all get the books....

Nice to see it finally updated...... Makes me feel like upgrading.... Again.... :furious:

It's nice, but the Canada site has a lot more info, wish they would add more info on there.

Cheers and hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend, I'm off to camp in my home state for the weekend -- south central... ... West Virginia :D

Do you guys think it will be inpossible to have a regular (non-Limited) WRX wagon with a sunroof? I can't justify the cost of leather and stuff, because I wouldn't appreciate it, but I would loove to have a sunroof!

I finally talked the wifey into buying an STi for me :D

So she gets the Leg GT wagon LTD and I get an STi (sans wing and with FN01R-C in bronze). DOPE! Just need some JDM pinks and Group 'n' tops and I am done!

You'll have to go aftermarket then.

Performance Exhaust System-Cat-Back (SPT) $495

Anyone have any info on this option? Looks interesting.

Is this is also the first step to Subaru including "performance part" options, much like Dodge does for the SRT-4?

SPT parts have been an option for years. they were an option when i bought my 2002 wrx. Here's the web site with a complete list of SPT parts, although looks like they don't have the MY06 parts listed yet. I'm sure the 06 parts are nearly identical to what they have been making all along.

Really? I don't remember seeing them as an option on the 05 (exhaust, I mean, not shifter or other items), anyway. I can't remember back far enough for others, but I'll take your word on it.

Any idea on how big an improvement in performance the SPT exhaust/cat-back is over stock? I suppose I'm off to do a search... :D

Just a little bit of nothingness but I also realize that the ashtray is gone and has become a GM/Ford style cup that rests in the cup holder. it also costs 25 bux!... Nothing big but I like my ashtray to be included with the car and hidden away.

(no I dont smoke in the car either, I just like to have my ashtray)

I went to the Subaru web site this afternoon and used the 'build your own' function to come up with an Impreza 2.5i wagon that is pretty fully loaded with options. I brought the printout to my local NJ Subaru dealer, who shook his head and said he could not even come close to matching the printout. A trailer hitch was listed at $200, for example, while he said it should be $300, for example ($300 is also the price ion J. Spitz's site). What gives?

Dr. Zevil
09-02-2005, 09:05 PM
Sounds like your dealer is gouging you. If you don't get within $500 of invoice on your purchase (total) then you should find another dealer.

Everything I've ever read you comment on is negative...If you don't like Subaru so much...there are plenty of other brands to choose from.

Subaru has been limiting options for ages. Back with the last generation Legacy, the Limited model was only available with an automatic (according to the site). Leather wasn't even an option on the Impreza until this year. Subaru likes to put the leather with sunroof and automatics for some dumb reason. The 06 Legacy GT wagon isn't available with a 5MT or cloth. That is just what you get from a small company. FWIW, lots of other companies do the same thing. In order to get the XLT package on a Ford Explorer (2002), you have to get an automatic. My mom still bought the damn thing, even though she's owned 6 manuals and 1 automatic her whole life.

I went to subaru here in Flagstaff Arizona because I saw on the website that they had a new 06 WRX. When I went I saw that it was the new TR model in WRB. Car looked nice but I was a bit disapointed when I saw it doesnt have the standard WRX buckets, but the RS standard Seats, besides that looks like a WRX Sans Spoiler. The car still had the paper wrapping on it maybe I will go take some pictures and get them posted up for you guys tomorrow. They are getting in a couple of STI's next week and I am 1st in line for a test drive.
