I blew a 1992 EJ22E and my mechanic has a newer EJ22 that he is going to drop in for me. Im just wondering if the newer ones have a different compression ratio and if they are less strong. Also are there any difference with the heads like dual port/ single port?

I just read in another post, in 97 the 2.2 went up to 9.7:1 which ups the HP to somethin like 147 IIRC. i dont know what year they were single port but i just put in a 91 that's dual, so you should be fine. Wiring will be a different story.

Yeah, you just read that in his other thread!!! He's cross posted this in at least 3 forums. I guess he didn't read the rules when he signed up!

I am sorry for cross posting i did not intend to break the rules i posted in different areas to get different opinions i was not in any way second geussing what you guys said! if you check the time of post they were probably within like 10min of each other. I only did that to speed up the responce time since i dont have much time before i need to tell my mechanic whether or not to put the turbo on the new motor.
Once again I appologize and hope that you guys might understand. sorry

no cross posting? are you guys nazi's? is your word gold? i think not! second opinions will save time and money! don't bash for a good idea, less downtime is def. a good idea! i've been "assured" of things that were way wrong, so don't think you're always right, because you'll surprise yourself sometime when it really matters!
granted you weren't too harsh, which is good! i've seen worse! play nice guys!
