View Full Version : 9.82@144 no gas

This was a run without the nos, first warm up run of the day to put some heat in the transmission before 'going for it'
Lots of wheelspin off the line on the cold tyres.
Unfortunately I fried the clutch on the next "full bore" launch after I let the tyres down a bit to try and stop the wheelspin off the line :(

A 12 hr roundtrip for one competitive run

Still, at 9.82 @ 144mph it's a new UK record for no Nitrous, beating the previous totb with-Nitrous record :D

those cars are the same as Rigoli's Little Red Wagon....2400lbs....
The car is 1000lbs less than new age Imprezas...

there is a euro car magazine that had a big imprezza line up and it had at least 12-14 imprezzas that were 10 sec cars, some lower. I am going to have to buy it and scan the article. these guys are crazy.

of note, seemed like a lot of them had 2.3l

The standard car weight difference is around 200kg (thats 440lbs ;) )

My car is now fairly stripped in the rear but retains full dash/heater/carpets/elec windows etc and weighs approx 2500lbs unladen.

Great Run Andy.
Wasnt raining on your parade. Just sometimes on these threads some people just refuse to believe that two Imprezas are not the same if there is big weight difference.
Anyone doing a great run like that with full interior deserves applause...

Nope, but I think you would need to use your imagination to get to "full interior" !

20 litre fuel tank in the trunk, no inner skin to trunk, no sound deadening, no radio, no roof lining, no door cards, no anti roll bars, no power steering, even the blanking grommets removed to save weight!

Vid does work. Need MPEG1 (VCD) codec. Moonlight Elecard MPEG2 codec pack has the necessary codecs to view it:

An exact replica of my current 2.33 unit !
It would allow me to push the envelope a bit further with out concerning myself about potentially losing a months racing waiting on a short motor build.
