Installed a Kartboy shifter tonight,....test drove it without the shift boot on and noticed that when shifting into 1st gear the rod that leads to the front of the car (that you bolt on to the shifter) hits the metal ring / frame that goes around the base of the shifter.....Anyone else notice this? Anyone try to cut away about a 1/4 of an inch from the base ring to allow more clearance? or done something else to allow about a 1/4 - 1/2 inch more clearance?

If you have cut away a section what did you use? I think it might me a little thick for a dremel to cut thru......if its possible to dremel it what attachment did you use ?
