View Full Version : Daddy's SCP/KTR Performance Dyno Day Saturaday October 8th

Daddy's SCP
09-17-2005, 12:31 PM
Hey folks,

I feel guilty that I don't have too much time to hang out and post in the New England forum lately, escpecially since this is my own backyard. So lets make up for that right now....

2nd Annunal Daddy's SCP / KTR Performance (or KTR Performance / Daddy's SCP if you like) Dyno Day Saturday October 8th.

At KTR Performance's facility, 99 Fitchburg Road, Ayer MA. 01432

It's back and will be even better this year(if you can believe it). There will be at least 20 official pre-order spots at $50. You can thank Scott and the gang at KTR for the killer price, even lower than last year. We say a whopping 26 dyno runs last year. Mostly Subie's but we let a Mazda RX-8 in the door just for fun. This will be more than just a dyno day, it will be yet another fantastic New England meet. KTR will no doubt offer tours of the facility. You might get a chance to seethe Noble British Supercar, but you'll definately see rows upon rows of Farrari's, Porche and other exotics. There will be full on BBQ this year. The exhaust DB test even that never made it at the Wicked Big Meet will happen for sure this time. There will be the usually Daddy's SCP give aways(new springs, sway bars and gauges are due in about this time so we may have something fun to give away). Daddy's SCP will be bring some inventory clearance items so bring your cash. There will lots of new MadDad(TM) products on display as well, including the new Whisper Catback exhaust, and Clarity Gauges.

Last years event saw 60 or so Subies come and go during the day(marathon from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM). This is the first of many posts on the event. For now, the thing you really want to due is book your dyno spot ASAP. If I recall correctly last years spots were booked within 3 days. To reserve your spot call KTR Performance direct and ask for Scott Bertz - General Manager. KTR Performance is at 978-772-9911.

I'll follow up with some photos from last years event and put together photo's and pricing for the clearance items that will be at the show. Sould be another great time.

If i cancel my time is there anyway I can get the $50 offer postponed to a future date?

There isn't much learning it needs to do- just go on the highway in 5th gear- get your RPMS to 2600 and hold for a few seconds. Then go about 1/3 to 1/2 throttle and hold constant for about 10 seconds.

That should advance your multiplier and get you all set. It's a variation of the Vishnu reset. If you have any questions, PM me.

not much of a variation of the 'vishnu reset'... it's the same thing

but if you want to be brake and traffic law friendly, you can do it in any gear... but what rpm depends on where the coarse learning is set... subaru tachometers aren't really the best in the world... i would recommend doing it just under 3K to be sure you are in the right neighborhood...

Dude dont cancel because your ECU wont have learned. Just do the Vishnu thing and by the time you actually drive out to Ayer your car will be fully adapted by then. When I had Cobb Stage I and II power differences were noticed immediately. Never had to deal with an interim "learning" period.

that is the biggest cop out i have ever heard... all the 'vishnu trick' does is speed up coarse ignition learning (which takes all of a few drives to become fully 'learned' anyway)... the fine ignition trim is changing everytime you drive the car, regardless... not wanting to dyno because you feel that you need to allow the ecu more time to change it's clothes, shower and pick up some girls down at the local bar is retarded.

both.
its a different tune but because of the of the race fuel used c16
there is alot more power to be found as more timing can be used without any worries of det. happening.

An M5 that was dynoed iirc

Yup, a buddy of mine's w/ a Dinan stage II kit. But, yes, he too was heartbroken on the Dynodynamics. He'd been braggin for years it pulled 460whp.......

The flat tq plateau was impressive on though.

I was satisfied with my numbers.

I pulled 266.3whp
Out of an 05 STi with a 3" ScoobySport turboback, and a UTEC on the standard stage 2 map.

I was the second dyno of the day, right after the 261whp 02 wrx

Hey look, I see my car!

One of the KTR guys said the k&n typhoon hurts my car. He could be right, or maybe it's because I didn't get to change the car oil since I bought the car. Stupid rain. :(

I had a great time though. The burger was great. The cars were awesome. I got a few waves/flash from other subie owner.

Gusto was right, KTR is definitely a hidden gem in MA. I had trouble finding it too.

Next time guys. After I get my power mods.

Hey, can one of the KTR guys PM me about either the next meet or maybe a future dyno run. I had to cancel my 11am slot b/c my car was dead lol. Shes fixed now and learning the Cobb map. Id like to see what my VF-34 is putting down. Thanks guys!

You can email scottb@ktrperformance.com to schedule dyno time. Franz can do the 3k rpm trick on the dyno to get your ignition multiplier back up, if needed.

I hear ya. My car died on me while driving, then was out of commission for about two weeks. I bought a new ECU, and everything. Turned out to be a pinched wire that shorted due to a bad dealer install of my boost gauge 9 months ago.

Good luck figuring out what's wrong!

Damn this thing is loud when engaging, sounds as though the car is falling apart. Gotta love the twin disc clutches .
