Having probs with my Air Conditioning, wondering if anyone has had similer problem. Is there a recall or Service Bulliten on this?

Ok, On long distance trips..Hot outside, AC ON..recirculate mode..Ac works great..nice and cold..for about a half an hour..

Starts getting warmer and warmer in the car..air coming out of vents is NOT cold..barely ANY air coming out of vents at all!

I shut OFF the AC, switch to FRESH mode..about a minute later/ air comes BLASTING out of vents and is Ice cold for about 15 seconds although AC has been turned off.

I don't know the first thing about ac units, but it is almost like something is freezing, causing the ducts to clog. The bower motor still runs when this happens but its just not blowing into the car. Any Help?

If it'd really humid were you live things could be freezing, my advice; Try a more conservative A/c setting instead of blasting cold then turning it off then blasting cold etc.

When I keep mine about 3/4 of the way to cold it takes longer to cool down but after it does it works much better.

Yup. Your evaporator is turning from a nice heat exchanger with lots of surface area (looks like a little radiator) and a place for air to go through, to a huge block of ice. All that humidity condensing + cold cold metal = ice.

Just go a little bit warmer.

Thanks..Now that you mentioned it..I just remembered that my wife had the AC on once and in Fresh Mode and Fog was coming out of the vents..hehe..well a least the AC Works! I'll try runnin a little warmer..I was about to go down to the dealer and start raising .........
