Not good to run a BOV period. The stock BOV with stage 2 is more than sufficient.

I love guys like you who like to give out your opinions when it comes to other people's cars. Seriously.

Look, a BOV is not really cool at any point, unless you need it and have the means to tune around it. Please, because a person on here has done it and gotten away with it does not mean you'll be fine. At worst, if you have your uppipe still (which I hope you don't at this point) you can destroy the uppipe cat and send it into your turbo. At best, it will run rich between shifts degrading performance. Take your pick.

Well I think a BOV is good [when its a recalculating one] when it has an option to change out the release valve spring to allow for higher boost levels
case in point, take the Forge motor sports REC BOV you can change the spring to 4 different rates.

Green - 5-15 PSI
Yellow - 15-23 PSI
Blue - 23-30 PSI
Red - 30 + PSI

upgraded dump valve spring (http://www.forgemotorsport.com/content.asp?inc=product&cat=0007&product=FMDVSU110)

I ran with a hks bov for roughly 10k miles on my cobb stage2. I never ran into any problems.

I'm running a stock BOV now though. Converted back to stock.

You <3 me, that's so sweet! Seriously though, if he wants a bov he can get one and it'll be okay. Yes, the stock one is sufficient, but some people like the bling factor associated with an aftermarket bov. At stage 2 level (including uppipe) he will do no harm to his car with a bov. Running rich between shifts wont hurt anything, except maybe your back bumper and spark plugs if it runs excessively rich. A tuner cannot tune out the rich condition that presents itself with a bov. kthanks, come again.
