So it all started out a few months after I bought my 2000 RS last august. The previous owner had installed a retrofit kit from a Lexus GS300 into my RS. The light output was awesome but every now and then the drivers side lamp would go out. It would soon come back on again another time. This happened every once in a while until last week when it went out and has not come back on since. I switched bulbs and both still work. I also swapped ballasts from the drivers side to the passenger side and both still work. Somewhere along the line there is a loose connection. I cannot see it anywhere. If I cant figure out the problem I will probably just sell this kit and someone with more knowledge about electrical work can figure it out. here are some pics of the kit.

Any ideas? Thanx

You could try wiggling some of the wires around and seeing if that will make the light come on...next step maybe check fuses and relays, and perhaps swap the harnesses so you can pinpoint whether those are the problematic areas...thats all I can think of...

Good luck.

it's the wiring. best to use connectors and not solder no matter what you read. it's one of the 2 wires going to the balist having a problem.

go get a bosch relay and wire it up following the diagram on this thread (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=694380&highlight=relay+harness+schematic) the same thing happened to me and i ended up selling my ballast cuz i thought it was bad but it was just the wiring...i'm not saying that this is for sure what it is, but those are the same things that were happening to me...what happens is the factory wiring isn't setup for hids, so it's too small of a gauge...anyways, try that and see if it works
