I've been on the prowl for a HO alt for nearly 2 years now, searching online, NASIOC, local parts stores, talking to mechanics, and really getting alot of mixed results. I have upgraded from the stock WRX alt to the 90 AMP STi version but I still drop to 12's in the voltage when I turn on my AC + Inverter or Headlights + Inverter.. Wierd thing is that it happens more when it's hot and when it's cool (at night) I don't need the AC but I do use all the lights and the inverter without a voltage drop.. I wonder if the STi alt just sucks?

I'm hoping to get 120+ output as I intend to have an embeded car-pc and dual battery setup with monitored alarm and high-end audio..

might want to try a Forester Alternator, or search in this forum and in the car audio forum, there is someone selling a HO alternator, I think its rated at 135A. Not 100% sure.

funny with all the crap that I run, I still don't see a voltage drop. *knock on wood* but yeah, I've been keeping an eye out on different alternatives.

RR :D

Can't seem to find any alternators for sale on NASIOC and while Stinger apparently has an application to fit my car, I can't find a Canadian reseller..

Anyone? Buller?
