guess who won? thats right! rally racing.

i was driving the heck outta the scooby down a little road that follows one of those deep deep drainage ditches. well, there were certian spots along the path that dipped down into a huge hole. not so much a hole, but a deep dip in the trail. in any event water had collected in one big one i drove through due to a current torrential downfall we had 3 days ago. well, i get the image of Mr. Makken blasting through a stream, and i get the bright idea to try this myself. i get going at about 20mph, and hit the puddle.. water COVERS the car http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif that was, i would have to say by far, the most fun ive ever had in a car. i dang near emptied that hole of water out driving through it so much http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

i went to wash it yesterday afternoon, and caught a peek at my freakin a/c condenser. the thing is at a angle where the bottom is slanting towards the engine! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/eek.gif under closer inspection, the little flimsy aluminum brackets that hold the consenser had bent, and the condenser had become unseated. as did the radiatior. there are 2 little "gromets" i guess you can call the that are made of rubber the radiator sits on so the vibration wont hurt it too much.. well it as well had been pushed back a bit and one of the gromets broke http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif

i yanked out the raidator and condenser, bent all the fixtures back the way they go, and found that broken gromet. imma replace it, but i just though id share my story with you guys and give you a heads up on stuff to look for when you go offroading http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

Yeah I have had to scrub at my radiator to get all the bits of clay and debris out of there.

At one point you couldn't SEE any radiater below the bumper.

Yeah, I've found that you usually don't want to mess with water if you can help it. At high speed, water doesn't like to compress and acts more like a solidhttp://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif

I've experienced first hand how an innocient and fun looking puddle can cost a new engine!!!! I'm a little more cautious now around bodies of water.
