A while back, a buddy of mine gave me a pair of rebased H3 Xenon bulbs (5000°K) that he didn't plan on using anymore. Not sure what I should do with them (since I already have the projector setup for my main lighting) I decided to throw one bulb in a fog light and see how it looked.

To my surprise, it actually turned out quite well. Believe it or not, the factory fog light cutoff sheild pretty much eliminates any unwanted glare from the (much) brighter bulb. For reference, the bulbs in the main projectors are 4300°K D1S Phillips.

Over all, I’m very happy with how they turned out. The light obviously doesn’t project forward very far, after all… it is just a fog light, but it does light up the immediate area in front of the car quite nicely. Also, the lane markers are much easier to see on wet roads. Haven’t had a chance to check out their usefulness in actual “fog” but I’m sure I’ll get the opportunity as winter is rapidly approaching the Mid West.
