Since I'm on my way to an RS-T, I have to save money where I can. So I bought some of these tires in hopes that they will last longer than my G-Force KDW's did. Also I hoped that they would keep me at lower speeds so I could keep the car in one piece.
With the same size tire, 215/50/16, with the KYB/HR combination, my cars performs radically different than with the KDW's. Small bumps seems to have lessened along with the rattles, a smoother feeling overall. Also, when the tires reach their limits, there is much less noise. That's about all of the good except the 340 tread wear rating. :)
On the other hand, I had to set the struts to 3 of 4 front, and 4 of 8 in back, with a 20mm sway bar in rear, to keep the car handling anywhere close to the G-Force tires. However there is still oversteer so I need to lessen the rear more. The sidewalls of the VR4's are very spongy. When I turn the car it takes a slight moment for the car to actually pivot(in place) in the desired direction, then the tires catch and the car turns. This is the biggest difference, and I still haven't gotten over it.
All in all, this is what I set out for. So the tires have performed well. I would buy them again, but hopefully I will my turbo before then. ;)
edit: Great in rain, at least with all the tread I have. Also, the GTech-Pro that came with the tires(mail-in form) works great. :p
