Nothing much to say. They treated me well and gave me a good deal after some haggling. Their prices are marked up, so you have to deal. My family will probably be purchasing more Subies from them.

Yes, you have to deal with them, but if you keep up your offer, they'll come down to it.

The only complaint I have is that I paid cash ($10,000 a day for two days, banking laws, you know), and they got my $10k cash deposit within 5 minutes of striking a deal, then left me there sitting for 2 hours waiting for the finance guy.

I expressed displeasure at being put behind finance customers (the dealer makes substantially more off a financed customer), and the finance guy treated me like a jerk when he finally got to me.

Had they offered to schedule me to come back in a couple hours to close the deal, or even not treated me like I was the jerk for being unhappy about handing them $10k cash then sitting and waiting for two hours, they'd have been a flawless experience.

I used the web to e-mail 5 local Subaru dealers in the Sacramento area on a new STI. I got the complete runaround or no response from everyone but Rod at Lithia (internet sales guy).
He worked hard to get me a fair deal, beat my credit union financing (4.2%) and personally delivered the car and the paperwork to my home within 24 hours (his idea). I feel pretty good about the process, overall and am embarrased about the local dealers and their "premium" pricing. Try to buy your next Subaru via the net - and try Rod at Lithia. If they don't give you the deal you want, at least you don't have to waste a minute away from home!
