Are there any cheap hotels or places to camp around there someone knows of? prescottsti 10-06-2005, 11:16 PM I want to check out the rally any info on times? Any rally crossing or exhibition runs? I would say rooms aren't cheap just average 50-60 a night there are places to go camping but it is pretty cold here at night. All of the best camping spots are in the verde valley but you could probably find somethin within Prescott. Jumpy 10-06-2005, 11:45 PM How is Thumb Butte for camping? It's been a while since I've been to Prescott. prescottsti 10-07-2005, 12:43 AM How is Thumb Butte for camping? It's been a while since I've been to Prescott. Probably not good they have been doing a lot of controll burns up there so its smoky as hell. isburns 10-07-2005, 02:36 AM There's a group of us who usually camp at the south end of Witty Tom. Thats free and just as good as any other place since you'll be around other rally volunteers/fans and also close to whatever stage you have to work... shemoves 10-07-2005, 03:27 AM alright, managed to find a college friend to stay with. From what I hear, the forest service is not allowing spectators so me and a friend are gonna volunteer. DubyaAreX 10-07-2005, 07:57 PM they have not had spectators for years, its all volunteers. I have been going out there for about 6 years now. I might be running final sweep. Dont know yet. I will at least be there as part of the medical staff. troglodytis 10-08-2005, 03:58 AM I'm not sure which road is which. Does anyone know of an online map? I flew over one of the stages today, around 5PM, in a little white helicopter. We made a couple of passes. Tis unfortunate that I am not working tomorrow. I know I saw a silver WRX wagon. If anyone wants to take a flight over one of the stages, PM me, but it won't be cheap! On the plus side, my wife is picking up our first Subie, an 05 FXT!!! |
